William Hong

Hong, William (February 17, 1945June 8, 2013) William Hong went to be with the Lord. Beloved husband of Selina for 36 years.Loving father to Eric. Devoted son of the late Chooey and Lillie Hong. Dear brother to the late Eugene Hong (Ann), the late Richard Hong (MaryLou), Marjorie Cheung (David), Patsy Chu (Eugene), Ken Hong (Diana), the late Carol Hong, Darlene Wang (David) and Stanley Hong (Lisa). Adored and fun-loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. William was a kind and loving husband, father and brother. He was an avid fisherman whose selfless acts of love and generosity have been a blessing to so many. He was a graduate of Soldan High School, a Sergeant in the US Army and a disabled Vietnam Veteran of America (recipient of The Bronze Star Medal with Valor and The Army Commendation Medal). Following his honorable discharge from serving his country, William founded the Sang Fah Beansprout Company and received The Chairman's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence presented by Congressman Tom Davis, Chairman NRCC. The Beansprout King was a dedicated citizen to his family, community and country. Services: Visitation will be this Friday (June 14) from 11am - 1pm, with the Memorial Service at 1pm at ORTMANN STIPANOVICH Funeral Home (12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO). Procession will begin at Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home at 2pm for interment with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2:30pm). In lieu of flowers, the family would like to direct monetary gifts to the Chinese Gospel Church as a lump sum.
