Joseph Walsh Obituary

Walsh, Joseph A. Sergeant, USAF World War II. December 6, 1921-November 3, 2012. Beloved husband of Jeanne Walsh (nee Stauf); father of Mark (Rita), Mary (James) Pritchard, Bridget (Stanley) Hutchen, Joe Jr., Matthew (Debbie), Michael (Jody) and Luke (Teresa), Nora (deceased) and John (deceased); grandfather of 21 and greatgrand father of 18. Joe was born and raised in St. Matthew's parish by his parents James and Anastasia. He had three brothers, Raymond, James and John. After Pearl Harbor, Joe enlisted in the Army Air Corp. Following the war, Joe met and married his wife of 67 years, Jeanne Marie Stauf. Joe deeply loved and was actively involved in the lives of his seven children, 21-grandchildren and 18-great-grandchildren. He was a great storyteller and proud of his Irish American heritage! Services: Visitation will be held Friday, 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 4900 Ringer Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Immediately following, a celebration of Joe's life will be held at the home of his daughter, Mary Pritchard. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Patrick's Center, 800 N. Tucker Blvd., St. Louis, MO. 63101 or St. Anthony's deGreeff Hospice House, 10024 Kennerly Road, St. Louis, MO 63128-9915.
