Alvis Shaw Jr.

Shaw, Alvis Jr. born March 7, 1943 was called home to rest on Sunday, September 16, 2012. Alvis leaves to celebrate his life his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Shaw; his two daughters, Randi L. Raiford and Lisa R. (Trey) Spencer and son, Andrew P. (Savanna Long) Shaw; four granddaughters, Angela A. Raiford, Anastasia K. Raiford, Khali B. Jones and Mya J. Shaw; three grandsons, Taj I. Jones, Jordan A. Shaw and Antoine A. Spenser; two brothers, U.S. Federal Judge Charles A. (Kay) Shaw and Booker T. (Jane) Shaw Esq. and brother at heart Edison Moseley; brotherin-law, Richard A. (Liz) Roundtree; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends and adored pets, Mocha and Tia. Alvis graduated from Beaumont High School then served four honorable years in the United States Air Force Reserve and received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He was a Master Mason member of the St. JosephSan Antonio, Texas Mason Lodge No. 1120. He dedicated service to the youth of our community as a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America. Alvis was a whimsical man and had a special gift for making people laugh. Services: Service at BOPP Chapel on Friday, September 21, 2012.
