Edward Joseph Simpson

Simpson, Edward Joseph Fortified with the Holy Sacraments July 26, 2013 at age 89. Loving husband of 62 years to Julia Giudici Simpson. Dear father to Tom (Alana), Mark (Nancy), John (Donna) Greg (Denise) and Jeff (deceased). Beloved Grandpa to Jenny, John, Jordan, Brian, Danny, Adam, Elizabeth, Doug, Jeff, Matt, Angela and Amanda. Great grandfather to John and Micah. Lifelong St. Louis resident graduating from Roosevelt High and attended Washington University. Ed served in the Air Force in WWII as a Sergeant in the 822nd Bomber Squadron. He flew over 40 missions in his favorite plane, the B-25, earning 2 Bronze Stars and The Air Medal for meritorious service. After the war, he returned to St. Louis and worked with his Father, Frank, in the family auto glass business. Upon selling the business, he branched into the financial services industry with A. G. Edwards in the late '60's. He retired in the late '80's and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be held Monday July 29th at BOPP Chapel 10610 Manchester Rd. in Kirkwood from 5:00-8:00 pm. A private funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Church in Kirkwood. Lafayette is a work center for adult special needs individuals that is dear to the hearts of both Ed and Julie.
