Kenneth Long Obituary

Long, Kenneth H. 88, of Rock Hill, died on Nov. 14, 2012. Beloved husband of 62 years of Doris Long (nee Giebel); loving father of Michael and James (Corinne) Long; grandfather of Stephanie (Sam) Phillips. Dear cousin, uncle, great uncle, and colorful friend to many. Mr. Long was born on June 27, 1924 in Parma, Ohio to the late Della and Harry Long, the youngest of five children. Mr. Long graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and the University of Iowa where he received his Master's Degree in Education. He was a grade school teacher and counselor as well as a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Gateway Chapter. Services: Visitation Fri., 12-2:00 pm at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Burial private. Memorials to the Alzhei mer's Association or a charity of your choice appreciated. www.boppchapel.com

Mr. Long was my 7th grade teacher at Meramec Elementary in 1958. He did an wonderful job of teaching us and guiding us through an important formative stage and I'm grateful for his dedication to his students. My sincere sympathy to his family. Liza Bertelson Streett

Ken Long was a good father to my friend Michael and his brother Jim, and a good husband to Doris. Prayers of strength to them and all of the Long Family and Friends.
