I didn't know Steve. Only met him a handful of times through the Hoffmeister's, but when Steve moved into the apartment complex in Kirkwood where my brother lives, one night last fall, Steve walked down to my brother's patio and introduced himself and brought us a box of Triscuits. He said his mom always told him he should bring a "housewarming" gift when you go to someone's house. We thought that was hilarious and loved him from then on! I will say some prayers for you all. I understand how difficult this is for all Steve's family and friends.
