Mrs. Vierse and the Vierse family:
I want to extend my sincere sympathies on learning of Gene's death. I am a recently retired architect who had the opportunity to work with Gene for a period of 20 years. I want you to know that Gene had a significant influence on my professional career. But more importantly, I considered Gene my mentor and friend. He was always available to answer any of my questions and always did it with smile. He also voluntarily designed the electrical system for my private residence, in spite of me insisting that i compensate him for his time. I am sorry I was not able to attend the wake / funeral and only learned of his passing this morning.
Sincerely
Larry Nordmann

Irv, Glenny, and Louann Lanning are all very sad after hearing about the loss of Gene Vierse. Irv and Glenny have wonderful memories of ice skating, tennis, and get togethers with Gene and Margo. They remember Gene as one of the kindest men they've known. I (Louann) will always appreciate and be thankful for the many camping and canoeing trips the Vierse family shared with me in Pensacola Florida and Southern Missouri. Being in nature with my friend Jeanne and the Vierse family were some of the best experiences of my Jr. High and High School years. I'm truly sorry for your loss. Mr. Vierse was a kind, good man who loved his family very much.

the entire Gilbert Clan is grieving today. Mr Vierse (as we will always call him) was a foundational person in our childhood. He taught us so much of what we know about the environment, canoeing, camping, and star gazing. The yearly trips to Pensocola at Easter and the regular float trips are some of the best memories we have....The hours I spent on your front porch playing ping pong and hearing him say Hello Ginny Gilbert...will stay with me forever....so please know that your father was well loved and respected by Rick, Bill and Rod Gilbert....and me...Ginny

Thoughts and sympathy to your family. I know that your father was a very important, loving father. This was told to me by my friend, Jeanne.
