Ray was an inspiration to me in the Serra Club. He worked tirelessly to foster vocations in the St Louis Archdiocese. Serra night at the ball park, the pastor's luncheon, the high school 31 club prayer program, Ray was instrumental in so many Serran activities. We will miss you, fellow Serran, and our friend.

Entering the Cathedral Basilica in solemn procession with the Knights of Malta for the Archbishop's Mass of Thanksgiving, Ray spotted me on the aisle, grinned and extended his hand. If I can keep that image fresh I'll die a better man.

Ray Gerriten, while fighting fiercely for his clients as an attorney, was a very kind hearted man. Seeing others happy would always bring a smile to his face. It was an honor and a privilege to have known him. My thoughts are with his family.
