Williamson, Kenneth Donovan of Webster Groves, Missouri, passed peacefully surrounded by family on his 86th birthday, April 7, 2014. Born in Charleston, West Virginia to Harold and Alma Williamson, he served in the US Marine Corps and studied engineering and architecture at Tulane and Washington Universities. He launched Midwest Pool & Court Company in St. Louis in 1954, and it thrives today under Sam Williamson's leadership. Ken was known internationally as a pool industry and aquatic center pioneer and expert, and he designed children's playground equipment for fun. An artist and passionate lover of life, he enjoyed all aspects of the natural world. He deeply loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Nancy Seibert Williamson, his children Craig Williamson (Alice Sterkel), Jose Williamson, Jane Williamson Boone (Theo Coxe) of Seattle, Sam Williamson (Donna), his brother Butch Williamson (Wray) of Savannah, Georgia, grandchildren Lambert, Taylor (Michael Ann) and Piper Williamson and Anna Soman of Seattle, two great-grandsons, nieces, nephews and all the many friends of Bill W. The family suggests memorials for Clowder House or Harris House in St. Louis. Services: A memorial celebration will be held this summer, poolside. Cordless.
