Bette Leventhal Obituary

Leventhal, Bette A. April 18, 2013. Beloved wife of Jake Leventhal for 50 years. Dear mother of Dan (Tina), Andy (Jamie) and the late Steve Leventhal. Loving grandmother of Bradley, Melissa, Sarah Coco and Josephine Leventhal. Dear sister of Stanley (Joan) Karasick. Beloved sister-in-law of Carol (Sidney) Franklin. Beloved aunt of Amy (Gary) O'Grady, Stephen (Stacy) Franklin, David and Rachel Karasick. Our dear cousin and good friend to many. Betty worked at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for over ten years and was the Patient Care Director of Psychiatry which included oversight of in-patient, and outpatient, psychiatry. She also oversaw The Independent Center, a community mental health center, as well as the Healthy Foundation Program. During Bette's tenure at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, she was instrumental in assisting in acquiring various behavioral health centers in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Services: Funeral service Sunday, April 21, 9:30 AM at RINDSKOPF-ROTH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5216 Delmar Blvd. Visitation for Mrs. Leventhal 9 AM Sunday. Interment private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108.
