Betty Moulton Obituary

Moulton, Betty Ann Tofle November 2, 1929 ÈApril 2, 2013. Beloved wife of the late David Moulton (1920-2004). Dear daughter of the late Myra and Adolph Tofle. Beloved mother of Bonnie Chambliss of Memphis, TN; Patti Moulton of Tustin, CA; Barbie (Joe) Moag of Beverly Hills, CA; Jeffrey (Shary) Moulton of Chesterfield, MO; and Gail Slotkin of Beverly Hills, CA. Loving grandmother of Lorelei Ellingwood, Allison Chambliss, Jillian Moulton, Nicollette and Savannah Slotkin, Jordan and Dylan Moulton. Dear great grandmother of Cassius and Bodhi Ellingwood. Beloved sister of Marvin (Ruth) Tofle of Columbia, MO. She also leaves behind many friends in St. Louis and wherever she traveled. Betty was a social worker, a part owner of a flower shop, and then a manager in the family real estate business. Betty enjoyed playing Mah Jong, entertaining and traveling with family, and being an avid reader. Betty briefly volunteered at the Children's Hospital and the Jewish Hospital flower shop, but her primary focus was on her busy professional career while concurrently being a great homemaker, wife, and mother; family was most important to Betty. Betty and her loving husband, David, were philanthropic members of the community. Betty's philosophy on life was the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would want to be treated yourself; and her positive attitude prevailed until the very end. Services: Funeral service Thursday, April 4, 2 PM at United Hebrew Congregation, 13788 Conway Road with interment to follow at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road. Visitation for Mrs. Moulton 1:30 PM Thursday at United Hebrew. In honor of Betty's memory, the family kindly requests those attending the funeral service to wear a touch of purple. It was Betty's favorite color and is the symbolic color for Pancreatic Cancer. Memorials may be sent to the Pancreatic Cancer Center of St. Louis or any other local charity of choice.
