Dear John,

I am very sorry to hear about your father. While I didn't know him, I know you. What a great job your parents did in raising you. Contentment resides with them now. My prayers are with you and your family. This is a difficult time, however, know memories will sustain you through these times. Take care, be safe. Mary K. Matalone-Stamberger (Pleasant Valley, MO).

Charlie was one of the "good guys". He was always pleasant to sit and talk to and always had a smile and strong handshake for everyone he met. He and Gloria raised a couple a great kids. I don't know Cathy very well but have known John since he was 16. John wouldn't be the man he is today without the nurturing he received from Charlie and Gloria. They are now back together again walking hand in hand and still keeping watch over John and Cathy and paving the way for the rest of us.

John - I am very sorry for your loss. I did not know your father but he sounds like a tried and true American who did his duty to his country and to his family. I am sure he saved lives that none of us will ever know about. He captures what America is all about and he certainly passed on his love of country and fellow man to you. You and your family are in my prayers. Thank you Mr. Combest for the honorable life you lived. Sarah Steelman
