Freebourn, Clare McGee Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 17, 1925, the third child of Mary Eliza (nee Conrad) and Robert Norvin McGee, Clare walked with Jesus to join her loved ones in Heaven, on November 25, 2013. She fought a long battle with dementia and passed away at home with her daughter by her side. Clare grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, graduated from the Indiana (PA) State Teachers College in 1946, with a B.S. in Music Education. While there, she met Norbert E. Freebourn in the college choir. They married right after she obtained her degree and were married for 39 years to the day, when Norb passed away, in 1985. They were blessed with two children, Charity Ann in 1948, then Norbert Jr., in 1952. The family left Pittsburgh in 1955, living in Brazil, IN and Oklahoma City, OK, then moving to the St. Louis area in 1959. Clare taught Elementary Music in the Pattonville School District, in Bridgeton, MO. For 24 years she taught many children to sing and most importantly, to appreciate music. Clare was active in church choirs wherever the family moved, and was a long-time member of Arlington United Methodist Church and their choir in Bridgeton, MO. Relocating to Arizona in 2004, she joined the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, in Sierra Vista. Waiting for Clare in Heaven are her parents; husband Norbert; son Norbert Jr; brother Robert N. (Bobby) McGee, Jr; sister-in-law Jeanne McGee; their three sons Skip, Jeff and Tom; sister Mary Jemima (Jem) Finney; granddaughter Hilary Kay Freebourn; and son-in-law Murray Webster. Survivors are her daughter, Charity Ann Webster of Sierra Vista, AZ; special niece, Jane Ann McGee Loney (Tom), of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter-in-law Mary Beth Marxkors Freebourn of Eldorado, IL; grandsons Michael (Stephanie) of Troy, MO; Andrew (Tara) of Marion, IL; Thomas (Jessica), and granddaughter, Andrea Clark (Steve) of Eldorado, IL; and 11 great-grandchildren. Thanks to her many friends, far and near, for helping to make her lifetime on this earth a very happy and blessed, 89 years. Services: A celebration of life will be held at Arlington United Methodist Church, 3770 McKelvey Rd., in Bridgeton, MO 63044, on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 1 o'clock pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Arlington UMC.
