Walentik, Corinne A. Finno, M.D., M.P.H. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Thursday, December 6, 2012. She leaves behind her husband David, mother Evelyn, daughters Anne and Kristine, son Stephen (Anja), grandson Benjamin, sister Virginia (the late John Sorrentino), brothers Robert (Cyndi), Christopher (Sonya) and Stephen, nieces Jennifer and Jacqueline, nephew Damian and many cousins, friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her father Edward Finno. Cory, born in Hicksville, NY and raised in Glen Rock, NJ, moved to St. Louis to attend St. Louis University in 1967 and within a week of her arrival met David, who became her husband of 40 years. She was married in 1972 and 2 years later graduated from St. Louis University Medical School. She raised three children while working as a Neonatologist at City Hospital, St. Louis Regional Medical Center and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and as Professor of Pediatrics at SLU. In addition to treating patients, she was a staunch advocate for public health and children's issues, earning a Master's Degree in Public Health and serving on various boards of charitable organizations. She was also an avid sports fan, particularly of the Cardinals and Billikens, and she never gave up her childhood love of the New York Yankees. Services: The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church (College Church) at Grand and Lindell Blvd. on Monday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. (Complimentary Parking at St. Louis University's Garage at Grand and Laclede) The family will receive friends at THE LUPTON CHAPEL, 7233 Delmar Blvd., University City on Sunday, December 9, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nurses for Newborns, 7259 Lansdowne, Suite 100, St. Louis, MO 63119.
