Cyril Joseph Clancy

Clancy, Cyril Joseph Former St. Louis resident and Attorney Cyril Clancy died September 21, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Cyril was born on May 9, 1930 in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest son of the late Cyril and Agnes Clancy. Three siblings survive Cyril: sister Margaret Woohl, San Diego, California, brother Gerard, Bowie, Maryland and sister Theresa, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His sister Ann Clancy passed away in 2010. He leaves behind, loving wife Mary Elizabeth Clancy, sons: Mike and Brian Clancy, daughter Cathy Bounds and grandchildren Emily and Matt. He graduated from Olyphant High School before joining the army. Graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College and Dickenson Law School and married Mary Elizabeth (Honey) Nealon. He became a member of the Missouri Bar Association, practiced law and provided legal counsel to the cities of Pevely, Valley Park, Edmunson and Town & Country. He was responsible for establishing the Valley Park Am Vets Post #1 and was there to make sure it was rebuilt after the flood of 1993 destroyed it. He retired from practice in 2004. His battle with Alzheimer's moved him to assisted living in March 2012. Cy practiced law for over 53 years. At the request of the family, his body was cremated. Services: Graveside service for family and close friends will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 28. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 7301 Watson Rd. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery office at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's disease Research Center in care of Dr. David Holtzman, Washington University School of Medicine, 4488 Forest Park Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, 63109.
