I love remembering David. He was a nice guy, very much like his father. I really like the photograph too. God Bless You and keep you, David.

Just looking at David's picture - and his smile - brings me back about 65 years to when we were both young and playing in Uncle Frank's big barn. We didn't spend much time together as we grew up, but we always knew we were family, and David was always sweet.

To the Long Family,
I am very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. My working with Dave at Snowkist were the most satifying and enjoyable years of my life. He was such a pleasure to work for and so very supportive. I learned a lot from Dave and we accomplished a lot together. Not only was he my boss but a good friend. I will treasure the memories and accomplishments we had for the rest of my life.
He will be greatly missed.
Sincerely, Jack Mello

Dear Anita,
I just heard the news about Dave's passing. My memories of Dave go back to the days of being raised in the Baptist Church where the Long family played such a prominent role. Then our days in college and your marriage to Dave brought many more good memories.
If you are ever in WNY, let us know. Our college gang gets together twice a year. We miss you and have lots of hugs for you.
God bless you and your family.

Dear Anita, Dave, Heather, & Melissa: We were truly shocked to hear of Dave's passing. When last we spoke, he said he was working hard on the farm and keeping very busy. Dave meant a lot to our family ever since our days in WA. I can't imagine the void in your hearts. He and all of you will be in our prayers.

Dear Anita,
It was so ironic that I had just seen a video on the demise of the Califorina pear industry, which featured and interview with Dave. I had no idea that he was ill, so please accept my most heartfult condolences with his loss. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to work with Dave, as he was an intelligent, compassionate, and most articulate individual. Moreover, he was a wonderful human being. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Anita,
Barbara and I were stunned to read of Dave's passing in the Enterprise today. He left behind a wonderful family, which is his lasting legacy. He also touched so many in his extensive professional career and his contributions to California agribusiness will be remembered. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and may the entire family be consoled during this difficult time. We will remember Dave in our prayers. God Bless.

My prayers go out to all members of the David Long family. I last saw David about ten years ago at my Mother's funeral. It was so nice to see him after so many years. It was kind and thoughtful of him to come such a long way to pay his respects to Aunt Naomi.
He'll always be in my memories.

Anita,David,Heather,Melissa,
Your visits to Rochester were always much anticipated and are fondly remembered. I always think of Dave trying to help my grandfather get a better yield from his garden while they shared pizzelles and beer. I will always remember how thoughtful Dave was of my grandmother and indulged her love of sports, baseball in particular. The ball he gave her, for safekeeping, held a place of honor among the Hummels. She was very proud of telling people how she got that ball from her nephew. You are all in my thoughts, I wish you comfort and peace.
Love and hugs,
Kelly
