To Valerie, Christopher, Ben, and the Friends of Doug Mudd:

I wish to offer my sincere condolences. Doug was a unique friend and professional colleague, and it is hard to summarize all the great contributions he made as both a friend and as an employee at Southwestern Bell and AT&T. An economist his whole career, his reputation among the economists and his coworkers at AT&T amounted to legend, and his renowned intellect and work ethic are something you seldom see anymore. He was held in great esteem by his professional colleagues. He will be missed by a great many people who've been saddened at his premature passing. I still find it amazing the extent to which Doug enriched all of us around him. Rest in peace, Doug! You made your own piece of this world a better place, and we will miss you.
