Mary Ellen and Family -- We are so sorry for your loss. Gene will be sorely missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and spend time with him. May it help to know that Gene is now in a better place and will not longer suffer the ravages of the disease that took his life too soon. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was able to reunite with Eugene (Butch)
my cousin when your side of the Holdenried Family started having yearly Reunions, for the past three years. Since there were so many (Holdenried) decendants it was hard to keep up with all the different family groups. We all will miss seeing Eugene at the reunions, see everyone of you and his family hopefully next year.

Mary Ellen and Family,

Frank and I are visiting friends in Minnesota and read that Gene had passed and want to express our deepest sympathy. He fought a good battle and will be rewarded in Heaven for his work while on earth with his family, his Church, his work and his friends.
We will personally extend our thoughts with you upon our return. His laugh and humor will never be forgotten.

I always loved to talk with Gene,AKA Butch. We used to share stories of our days on the SLMPD. Gene was a favorite of his uncle and my Grandfather Robert Holdenried. He was always happy and loved his family. I will miss him at the family reunions. May God Bless him and his family.
