Jacoby, Frances Mitchell Frances MItchell Jacoby was born in Batavia, N.Y. on February 12, 1912 and died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of 100, at Brooking Park where her last years were spent. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Herman Jacoby. Precious mother of Sally Jacoby Bacino and mother-in-law of Joseph Nicholas Bacino; sister of the late Lucille Mitchell Behle. In the 1950's she was president of the Lady's Auxiliary of the St. Louis Cycling Club and received her Century Road Club pin for riding 100 miles in a day. She subsequently did this many times. She lived in the Central West End and walked eight miles daily in Forest Park with her beloved husband. The two of them were also pioneer canoeists on the Ozark Wilderness Waterways. She was a champion synchronized swimmer and attended the 1982 Synchronized Masters National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, FL., where she won three gold medals. The following year she did the same thing at the Masters Olympics in Santa Clara, CA. At the peak of her swimming career, she was a Midwestern Judge for the synchronized Olympic trials. Services: A Memorial Service will be held at the Old Stone Meeting House, 2250 N. Geyer Rd., Frontenac, on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Jacoby was cremated.
