Growing up in St. Louis I was very fond of your mom and dad, "Trudy and Dick," and when my uncle Larry called to let me know that Trudy had died, I sighed, acknowledging the incredible losses we all experience as our parents pass. So on behalf of my mother, Rose Gelles, who we lost in 2002, and her great fondness for Trudy, and my father Heinz Gelles, we send our condolences and are making a contribution to the Komen Foundation in Trudy's memory.

To Trudy’s Family:
The museum world has lost a true friend. Trudy was a wonderful Saint Louis Art Museum docent. We will all miss her very much. She was a great inspiration to all of us. One of her techniques, which I still use today, is to have everyone look at a painting and then ask them to turn around and without looking at the painting, tell you what they saw. It works very well, with both adults and children. Every time I do this with a group, I think of Trudy. She will live on in my memory and the memory of many others that have been blessed with the opportunity to go on one of her tours. She was a warm sweet person with a heart of gold. I will miss her.
Love from Gin Wachter, Saint Louis Art Museum docent
