John G. "Jack" Hornecker

Obituary Condolences

Hornecker, John G. Jack 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (nee Grady) Hornecker. Loving father of Leslie (Adrian) Oleck, Linda (Bruce) Breckle and John D. (Brenda) Hornecker. Proud grandfather of Jennifer, Jeff, John C., Melinda, Andrew and the late Mark. Proud great-grandfather of three and two on the way. Jack began his military career at the Citadel in South Carolina. He served in WWII in Patton's 3rd Army 89th Infantry Division, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After the war he graduated from Washington University with a Bachelor's degree in business. He was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church before moving to Hot Springs, AR, where he joined Kirk in the Pines and became active in the Hot Springs Village Lion's Club. He was an avid golfer while residing in the Village. Jack enjoyed teaching and was proud to have taught graphic art to students at East St. Louis Community College. He loved his family, studying history and playing poker with his friends. Services: An hour of fellowship will begin at 10 am at the Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1570 Chambers, in Dellwood, on Friday, July 19th with a Memorial service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations to, St. Louis Veteran's Home Committee, PO Box 21635, St. Louis, MO 63109-0635 or Lions Clubs Intl' Foundation, Dept. 4547, Carol Stream, IL, 60122-4547, are appreciated.
