Brodhead, Josephine Carr Josephine Carr Brodhead died peacefully surrounded by family and friends Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 2014 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late John Brodhead, Jr. Dodie was the loving mother of Jodie Brodhead Moore and grandmother of Tory Moore, aunt of Hilary Hartung, Michael Hyland, Peyton Carr, Carol Pollock and numerous other nieces and nephews. A woman of great integrity with a superb sense of humor, she was loved, admired and respected wherever she went. Dodie was also a competitor, a great athlete, bridge player, and she especially loved her time on the tennis court. Energetic, civic minded and intellectually curious, she was active in the Women's Exchange, a resident of the Service Bureau, a promoter of the Botanical Gardens, a key fundraiser for Fisher House, and a lifelong student. She was particularly devoted to the St. Louis Art Museum where she was a founder of the decorative arts committee and a lifelong friend. Services: The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Episcopal Church of St. Michael and St. George, 6345 Wydown at Ellenwood, Clayton on Saturday afternoon, March 29, at 4:30 p.m. Following a private interment, a reception for family and friends will be held. Memorials may be made to The Neighborhood Academy, 709 N. Aiken Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206 or to St. Luke's Hospice Faith Fund, Attn: Lisa Heisserer, 111 S. Woods Mill Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017.
