Louise Meyerkord Obituary

Meyerkord, Louise (nee Foley), passed away Mon., Jan. 9, 2006 at the age of 87; she was surrounded by loving family who cared for her in her last days. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved son, Lt. Harold Dale Meyerkord and many brothers and sisters. She was the devoted wife of Harold Meyerkord; loving grandmother of Lynne Meyerkord, caring mother-in-law of Jane Schmidt Meyerkord Bonfanti; loving sister of Alene Gates and Faye Clark; aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; she leaves several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Several of the family members have been with her through-out her illness; Alene, Greg and Linda Gates, Pat and Charlie Thurmond, Sharon Werner, Ronnie Meyerkord, Verna Ward, Irene and Cass Unnerstall; she is also survived by her loving pets, Bailey (the dog) and Charlie (the cat).
Louise was born in Batesville, AR and moved to the St. Louis area when she was 19. She worked for many years in the floral industry and proprietor of 'Louise's Flower Shop' in North St. Louis County. Louise lived a very full life and brought laughter to many who knew her. She touched the lives of family, friends, Eastern Star Order and the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed by all.Services: VISITATION WED., JAN. 11, 5-7 p.m. at BUCHHOLZ SPANISH LAKE Mortuary, 1645 Redman Ave., then Thurs., Jan. 12, 9:30 a.m. -10:45 a.m. at Bellefontaine United Methodist Church, 10600 Bellefontaine Rd., with service to follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. Interment Frieden's Cemetery.
