Thomasson, Mary Lou Wahlert, M.D. passed away peacefully at her home in St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the age of 86. Mary Lou Thomasson was a radiologist who practiced at Lutheran Hospital, DePaul Hospital, and St. Francois Medical Center in Florissant, MO. Loving and beloved wife of Robert Edgar Thomasson, M.D., her husband of 47 years, who died in 1994. Beloved mother of Susan Wienstroer (Daniel) and Jeffrey Thomasson, M.D. (Gail Cindrich). Adored grandmother of Robert, Alan, and Patricia Thomasson, and Emily Wienstroer. She is also survived and greatly missed by Meredith Payne, M.D., her children's godmother; sister-in-laws Mary Sue Wahlert and Josephine Frantz; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the daughter of the late Ernst Henry Wahlert and Myrtle Ruth Jenkins Wahlert of St. Louis, and was predeceased by her brother, Ernst Wahlert. She received her bachelor's and medical degrees from Washington University. After completing her residency at St. Louis City Hospital, she became one of the first women in Missouri to be board certified in radiology. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bible Study Fellowship, the DAR, and Covenant Presbyterian Church. Services: A Memorial Service to celebrate Mary Lou Thomasson's life will be held at a later date.
