Monica you may not remember me... my daughter Amanda Shifrin was in camp at B'nai Amoona with Hannah many years ago. I remember winning tickets to a Rams game that your husband had so generously donated to a raffle. I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

The thought of never seeing Mike again is simply unimaginable... I probably spent as much time with Mike during his undergraduate and law school days as anybody. When the girls are old enough, I hope I am able to share stories about the college Mike with them. I am certain they will laugh. Mike was a rare and special guy, and he will be sorely missed.

Monica:
We are very sorry for your loss. Mike was the nicest person I know. He was always helping those in need. Also, I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to get to know him when we worked together at Safeco.
You and your family are in our prayers.

Monica and family:
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I worked with Mike at SAFECO'S staff counsel office. Juggling work and family is always difficult, but Mike always had the almost natural ability to do both; I think primarily due to the fact that he was so genuine.
He was a stellar attorney, but most importantly, a truly tremendous husband and father. He will be sorely missed by all. May you find solace in the fact that Mike's own attributes of hard work and dedication, yet still remaining true to yourself, have been instilled in your daughters.
Godspeed,
Rhonda Kattelman

Mike was my fraternity brother. I will always remember and respect Mike for his sense of humor. Even today after 20 years, I still laugh at the jokes he would tell and the observations he would make. Mike also had a very strong sense of how things were put together. I remember how Mike and Craig Redler built a still for making alcoholic drinks. The fact that they put this still together correctly always amazed me.

When I first moved to St. Louis in 1980 the first neighbors to knock on our door to introduce themselves were Mike Kornblum and his mother Joyce. Although Mike was a couple years older than me we developed a good friendship that lasted throughout junior high and high school. I had not seen Mike for over 25 years until I just recently saw him at the store with his wife and daughter. It brought joy to me by seeing him so content and happy with his family in such a non-descript setting.

I'm shocked. Mike was a friend of mine in high school. We fell out of touch long ago but I would hear he was doing well every now and then and was glad for him. Now this, a genuinely good guy gone, leaving behind a family. Not fair.
