Miller, Nancy Evans age 69, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2012, to join the Lord while awaiting a lung transplant. Nancy was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 17, 1943 and reared in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Miller with whom she just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, her daughter Shannon (husband, Will) Killeen and her son Corky (wife, Nicole) Miller and cherished grand- children Caroline and Grant Killeen, Emery, Bennett and Keaton Miller, her sister Jackie (husband, Joe) Glaspie, her brothers Julian Reed (wife, Kathy) Newbern, Wayne (wife, Tammy) Evans, David (wife, Mitzi) Evans, sister-in-law Dorothy (husband, John) Miller, brother-in-law Paul (wife, Peggy) Miller, her stepmother Vivian Evans and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Tish Roberson, her mother, Amanda Newbern and her father, Harden Jackson Evans. Nancy was a successful business woman, served with many civic organizations and had numerous achievements. She was the owner of Nancy Miller and Associates public relations and advertising company, which was a succession of the previous company she owned Meeting Management, Inc. Nancy served as President of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, volunteered with the St. Charles tourism bureau, was elected Midwest Regional Director of Jaycee Wives and published a historical quarterly magazine that captured the rich heritage of St. Charles County Past Times/St. Charles Nancy was engaged in the hospitality industry for many years, opening properties for Howard Johnson and Holiday Inn and serving as Regional Sales Director for Harley Hotels. On two occasions, she accompanied her husband on international business assignments to Germany and for 10 years in Singapore. In Singapore, Nancy continued her civic contributions and carried God's message. Her activities in Singapore included serving as President of the American Woman's Association, serving on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Singapore, originating and holding National Day of Prayer services and serving on the Woman's Board of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, as the lone American. Nancy had a strong faith and has been an active member of her church organizations and led bible studies for multiethnic groups. Nancy touched and inspired many around the world. Her giving and compassionate spirit will be remembered by all who came in contact with her. Her smile was infectious and she had many friends. Services: Memorial service 11 am on Friday, August 10, at Central Presbyterian Church, 7700 Davis Drive, Clayton, Missouri, 63105. Visitation 4-8 pm on Thursday at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, MO. Memorials may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church Missions Program, of Missouri, 1118 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139 or in her name.
