Polixeni Stratos

Obituary Condolences

Stratos, Polixeni (Kotis), 82, passed away on Nov. 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Polixeni was born in Greece where she married the late Vasilios Stratos and had two children, Konstantinos and Anna. They moved to St. Louis in 1959 where Polixeni worked many years as a seamstress and raised her family. In 1995 she moved to Paramus, NJ with her daughter Anna and her family. Polixeni loved to garden, as well as cook and bake for her appreciative family. Polixeni was also a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Vasilios, beloved son Konstantinos, beloved brother Theofanis Kotis and beloved goddaughter Cynthia Koulouriotis. Polixeni is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna (Stratos) Fikaris and Vasilios Fikaris. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Zannis Fikaris and his wife Andrea, Despina Shikar and her husband Peter, and George Fikaris and three treasured greatgrandchildren, Nicholas Shikar, Anna Fikaris and Vasilios Shikar. She also leaves behind beloved sisters Kalliopi Liontos, Chrisanthy Premikiris, Penelope (Elias) Lialios, beloved brother Sotirios (Ourania) Kotis, sisters-in-law Kalliopi Tsiopos, Kassandra (Theofanis) Lialios and Ellie Kotis and beloved goddaughter Fotini Shiskos. Polixeni will be missed by her many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Services: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit the BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, on Fri., Nov. 30th, from 4 to 8 p.m, with Trisagion at 7 p.m. The Funeral will be Sat., Dec. 1st at 10 a.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Town and Country, MO, followed by burial in St. Matthew Cemetery. Donations may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and The Brotherhood of Sopiki.
