I did not know Shannon, but have a daughter about her age. I cannot imagine your pain in losing her to violence when her health was being restored. Praying that your broken hearts may in time be healed with happy memories and the love that surrounds you. I am so very sorry.

Dear Vincel family,
I know your family only through your highly recognizable name in St. Louis business community, and did not know your beautiful Shannon. I can only imagine the heartbreak you feel in this senseless tragedy. May God give you strength in the many difficult days ahead, and may you find comfort in your many wonderful family memories. I pray also that justice is served. Rest in peace Shannon.

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend." My heart aches for the family and friends of such a beautiful and courageous woman. I am truly sorry for your loss. I feel your world feels drab and empty now that she's gone. Sorry

Shannon has deeply touched my heart with her courage and brave heart. I too travel far far for treatment. She is with Jesus and all the angels in Glory. We must hold onto the holy promises of God during this season of great lament.

Words cannot express how I feel for you her family. I have been a patient at CTCA for 9 years and still can't comprehend how something like this could happen. I had radiation 5 years ago and stayed at Guest Quarters West. Many days laying on that bench for some sunshine. Please know that so many of us patients and our families are praying for you and hoping they find this person very soon. Much love to you and your family. May God wrap his loving arms around you and one day give you some peace.

Love and prayers to your family at this time of grief and sorrow. I met Shannon many years ago when I was a young single mother struggling through college in Chickasha, Oklahoma and she was always so sweet and kind to me and my children. I have often thought about her and hoped that she was doing well and was happy. We had mutual friends and we are now all better people for having had her light in our lives, even if only briefly. Thank you for sharing your beloved with the world.

You were one of my very best friends during our tumultuous tween/teen years. The first person to talk to me, the shy 9 year old new kid, and invite me to sit with you at lunch. We became fast friends. So much of my childhood includes wonderful memories with you; dancing to the Thriller album in your basement, spending hours picking out clothes for the Duran Duran concert. You were always kind, fun, and beautiful. I have so many wonderful memories of you and I will cherish them all. Prayers for you and your family. You will be greatly missed.
