It was with great sadness that I read of Tim's passing. While I haven't seen Tim in nearly twenty five years, I remember him well. Tim and I were members of the University of Minnesota Wind Ensemble, and we both worked for the band department. We had a lot of fun! There are too many stories to tell-- we shared great experiences--tour to China, and small experiences--trip to SD to buy fireworks. Tim was a great musician, a compassionate friend and a fun person. I loved his laugh! Of all the memories I have of Tim, one sticks out more than the others. Tim asked me to play a duet at his church one Sunday, and he had me over to his parent's home afterwards. I hadn't really thought of that day in years. Now, looking back I realize how lucky I was to have a friend whose joy of family and faith was so alive in his life. I am so grateful for the time we shared.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of this friend of my youth, but encouraged that Tim is with Jesus, and we will get together again and make music for our Savior in that glorious day. My deepest sympathy and ardent prayers are for his family in this time of astonishing grief.

I have been a student of Tim's almost four years. We have recently started working on jazz. He always told me I had great potential as a saxophone player. He was an awesome person, I will miss him, more than words can say. I will always remember him. RIP-Tim and May God be with you and your family.
