Copeland, Verlyn R. of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 77. Born July 26, 1936 in Maries County, MO, in a log cabin on a 105¢3º day, during the hottest summer on record. After honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he was employed by McDonnell Douglas, where he retired after 33 years. A perfectionist who, in his spare time, excelled at car mechanics, TV repair, appliance repair, construction, plumbing, roofing, cabinetry, masonry, concrete, welding, electrical, farming & musical instrument maker. Learned to play many musical instruments, excelling with the guitar & mastering the fingerpicking style of playing rhythm & lead simultaneously. Loved old country music, westerns, Pepsi & Little Debbie's. Hated being tailgated while driving, singers who squall & movies that are phony. The impact of his loss to us is immense. Dear husband of 49 years to Rebecca; beloved son of the late Edward & Kate Copeland; devoted father to Robert, Michael, David & Sandra; loved father-in-law to Christine, Jude, Rachael & John; cherished grandfather of Ash, Joshua, Helaina, Phillip, Lexie, Evan, Rhiannon, Lillian & Evangeline. Treasured great-grandfather of Atreyu & Richard. He is preceded in death by his siblings Kenneth, Alma, Allen & John. Loving uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and dear friend to many. Services: The family is being served by The Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO where a visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 4:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery.
