Bonfanti, Jane Elizabeth Schmidt Meyerkord 8-21-1938 Janie passed from pneumonia February 12th, 2009 after suffering a long, extreme disability as a result of radiation necrosis. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Meyerkord, her brother, Charles Schmidt (his wife Diana) and her brother Edward Schmidt. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Patti, Curt, Scott, Dana, and Melissa. Additionally, she is survived by many Meyerkords, many Bonfantis, and many friends. She is also survived by her two bulldogs, Wilbur and Inu. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Schmidt, and her husbands, Lt. Dale Meyerkord (1965) and Dr.Albert Bonfanti (2000). Jane had a Masters Degree in education and she was a retired high school teacher. She enjoyed friendships with her colleagues long after retirement. Prior to her disability, Jane was very active with horses and enjoyed showing her dogs. She had a hearty appetite for life, and an incredible sense of fun. She also loved the sun and all things Hawaii. We are grateful for all those who helped care for Jane, including Amber, Donna, Elizabeth, Hazel and Rasha.Services: Services will be held in St. Louis February 28th, 10:00 a.m. at Ladue Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to AIDS Project of the Ozarks or the Humane Society. All of those who loved Janie are thankful she is finally free.

Lynne - I remember your Mom's laugh, the silly names she use to call you, the pool, the dogs in the pool and how full of life your Mom was. I'm glad she is free to go back to that. Let us know if there's anything we can do. We love you.
