Joseph R. Cordaro Sr. Obituary
Cordaro, Sr., Joseph R. 92, Lake St. Louis, MO, February 2, 2014. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of Lorraine Cordaro nee Schwartz; loving father of Joseph (Judy) Cordaro, Jr., Cheryl (Joe) Wetton, Linda Herzog, Barbara Morgan and Jeff Cordaro; beloved grandfather of 7 grandchildren, and 7 greatgrandchildren. Son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Cordaro, and brother to the late Ray Cordaro and Helen Bates. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dardenne. He was in the Propeller Club and was the first River Man of the Year. He was the Commander of VFW #10350 in Lake St. Louis. He was in the Dardenne Knights of Columbus where he was a Grand Knight and also a Knight of the 4th Degree. He was a Kentucky Colonel. For several years he served as an Alderman of the City of Lake St. Louis. He was also active with Lake St. Louis Ambassadors. He owned and operated River Barge Systems and Diversified Marine Enterprises. The family especially wants to thank the caregivers and staff at Park Place Retirement Community. Services: A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Dardenne Prairie, MO. Interment will be at 2:30 in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. The family will receive friends at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5.
