Harris, Annie Elizabeth We have come together to celebrate the life and homegoing of Annie Elizabeth Harris, born on October 17, 1901 in Mayersville, Mississippi to Alexander and Sophie Smith, the eldest of eight children. She attended Mayersville Grade School and completed her education at Piney Woods College. She was wed to Roosevelt Harris on November 27, 1921. They resided briefly in Mississippi, moved to Chicago then finally settled in St. Louis, Missouri. From their union were five children (all surviving), Roosevelt Jr. (Fannie), Alexander (Minnie, deceased), William (Audrey), Lawrence (Elaine), Florence (Caudall, deceased). From these offspring are 10 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, 8 great-greatgrandchildren, and 3 great-greatgreat-grandchildren (all surviving). She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. Her one remaining sibling, Willie Mae Canterberry currently resides in Mississippi. Miss Annie to her friends and Big Mama to her family lived 112 beautiful and healthy years with the aid and loving care of our extended family member, Ms. Theodis Eutz who provided very special home care especially during the waning year of her life. Mom will be remembered for her strong spirit and inner peace. We will always love you. Well done to a good and faithful servant. Services: Visitation Friday 3/28, 10 a.m. Funeral 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church. Interment St. Peter's. Service by Wade Funeral Home.
