Martha Jean Seewoester Obituary
Seewoester, Martha Jean (nee Jackson), 91, on Monday April 21, 2014 at Friendship Village Chesterfield. Beloved wife of the late Arthur John Seewoester; loving mother of Frederick (Anna) Seewoester, Susan (Kerry) Brethauer, Douglas (Kimberly) Seewoester, and Mark (Patricia) Seewoester; dear grandmother of Christina Brethauer, Amy Seewoester, Emily (John) Borzillo, Kurt (Kc) Brethauer, John Seewoester, and Adam Seewoester; great-grandmother of Garrett Strause and Gwyneth Borzillo and great-greatgrandmother of Delia and Gunnar Strause; aunt and friend of many. Upon graduation from Ellet High School, Akron OH, Martha was employed at Ohio Bell Telephone Company. During WWII, she served for two years in the U.S. Marine Corps Women's reserve in Washington, D.C. as a Switchboard Operator. Martha was a parent volunteer in her children's schools, was active in the Kirkwood Garden Club and in her church, and for many years served with her husband on the Meals on Wheels program in Kirkwood. Services: Memorial Service Friday, April 25th, 2 p.m. at Friendship Village Chesterfield, 15201 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Evangelical Children's Home, 8240 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Louis, MO 63114 or BJC Home Care Services, 1935 Belt Way Drive, St. Louis, MO 63114.
