Charles M. Kruse Obituary
Kruse, Charles M. born Dec. 4, 1940 passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 while visiting his daughter, Laura in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated from Clayton High School and the University of Missouri; he spent time in Idaho as a fire lookout; was a US Army veteran; an avid traveler, historian and trivia buff. As a CPA he knew the tax code inside and out; once retired he volunteered with AARP as a tax preparer and The Alzheimer's Association of St. Louis. He enjoyed Saturday movie nights, Sunday dinners, and he loved his dog, Baby Sadie. Widowed young he raised his two young daughters by himself. He was home every night by 5:30, never missed a basketball game or a track meet, hosted sleepovers, and learned how to make a mean blueberry pancake. He kept Hallmark busy sending his daughters thinking of you cards. He was predeceased by his mother, Katherine W. Kruse and his wife, Barbara Vander Heyden Kruse and is mourned in death by his sister, Ruthanne Kruse Bullock and brother-in-law the Rev. Dr. A. Richard Bullock; his daughters Amy Alfuth and Laura Conlon and their husbands, Todd and Brock and three grandchildren, as well as his nieces Heather Haste, Holly Denniston and nephew, Andrew Bullock. Between his mother, his sister, his wife, his children, and all his friends, he was loved every single day of his life. Services: Visitation will be held Monday, June 2nd at Bopp Funeral Home from 4:30-7 p.m. Mass will be said Tuesday, June 3rd at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Louis History Museum. www.boppchapel.com
