Jose Antonio Vega-Montalvo Obituary
Vega-Montalvo, Jose Antonio of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Summerville, South Carolina. Beloved husband of the late Dolores Lujan Vega; dear father of Nicholas Marentes, Dolores Vega-Johnson, Annette Vega-Silvernale, Marylea and Joseph Vega-Montalvo and the late Debra Vega-Owens; a proud grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of five; our dear brother, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Joe served his country with distinction for 52 years; he retired from the Air Force after 30 years as an Intelligence officer; in addition he was a Customs Officer for 28 years and one of the founding members of Homeland Security. Services: Visitation at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church, 401 S. Lindbergh, on Friday, August 1, 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. www.kriegshausermortuary.com.
