Israel, John S. 79, of Bokeelia, FL died March 15, 2012 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. He was born January 12, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Jack and Dorothy Israel. On December 21, 1954 John was wed to Nancy E. Clipner at Central Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Washington University with a degree in civil engineering and then spent two years in the U.S. Army. Following his military service John worked with his family at Israel Brothers Construction, a road contractor that paved many of the streets, roads and highways in St. Louis and throughout the state of Missouri. In 1977 he went to work at Alberici Construction Company where he retired as Vice-President. John is survived by his wife, Nancy, and five children: Jack (Diane) Israel of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Laurie (Jack) Avery of Chesterfield, MO; Carrie (Robin) Thorpe of Collinsville, IL; David (Nancy) Israel of Jackson, MO; and Larry (Thi Ha) Israel of Macon, GA; as well as 14 grandchildren.
