Newbold, Louis Francis February 19, 1922 December 2, 2012. Devoted husband of the late Gloria A. Newbold (nee Croghan). Preceded in death by his father, William L. Newbold and his mother, Mary Ida (Gulde) Newbold, and five brothers, Robert, William, James, George (Father Thomas More) and John (Cree) Newbold. Loving father of Michael (Barbara) Newbold, Christopher (Margaret) Newbold, Mary Lou (Tom) Metzger, Peter (Lois) Newbold, Stephen (Kellie) Newbold, Mark (Susan) Newbold. Grandfather of 11 and Great Grandfather of 2. Mr. Newbold served his country in WWII as a B-24 Bomber pilot in the Pacific theatre. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Master's Degree in 1949. He was a public high school educator, football and baseball coach in the South Bend, Indiana School District in the 1950's and 1960's and retired after serving as a high school principal for Wentzville High School in the 1970's and Montgomery City High School in the 1980's. He was a member of the Wentzville American Legion Post 323 and a Fourth Degree member of the St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus Council #2345. Services: The family is being served by The BAUE Funeral Home, 311 Wood Street, O'Fallon, MO where a visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 405 South Church Street, Wentzville, MO on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to In Lieu of Flowers St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville MO; University of Notre Dame; Jonesburg Nursing Center, Jonesburg MO.
