Kaley, Donald Hal Age 77, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012. Beloved husband of Sally Lee Kaley; dearest father of Nisa (Mitchell) Peters, Reann (Mark) Ratterman, Samone (Fred) Ritz and Donald Allen Kaley; grandfather of Tanner and Connor Peters, Samuel, Martha Jane Maggie, Luke and Emma Ratterman, Kaley, Fred IV and Sarah Ritz; stepfather of Joan Fears, Jane (Robin) King and Robert (Valerie) Snyder. Born July 29, 1935 to Steve and Dorothy Kaley in Chicago, IL his parents passed away when he was 3 years old and he was raised by his great aunt Jennifer Rouch Conway. He graduated from Weber Catholic High School for boys in 1953 and joined the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge he became a Chicago Police Officer and then joined the Army Reserves, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. While with the Chicago Police Department he attended Northwestern University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business. While with the ATF Division of the US Treasury Department, he was transferred from his post in Chicago to Danville, IL and made his home in Robinson where he was appointed to the Police Board. In 1975 he was transferred to the St. Louis, MO ATF office from which he retired in 1990. Upon retirement from the Treasury Department he became Police Chief of the Breckenridge Police Department, where he served for 16 years. He earned his Master's Degree from Webster University in 1989 and taught at St. Louis Community College of Forest Park. in 1959 he married Rebecca Ann Allen and they remained friends for his lifetime. Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road on Wednesday, January 2 from 3-8pm. Then taken to Faith Lutheran Church Thursday, January 3 for visitation 9am until time of funeral at 9:30am. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Memorials to Backstoppers appreciated.
