Charles Dennis Collins Obituary
Collins, Charles Dennis August 20, 1924 È March 1, 2013 Charles Dennis Collins was born August 20, 1924 in Heidelberg, Mississippi. As a Marine based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina he served his country three and half years during WWII. After receiving a honorable discharge, Charles entered pre-med studies at Alcorn State University. Charles and his family moved to St. Louis, Mo and shortly after united with Prince of Peace Baptist Church. Charles taught Chemistry and Math in the Kinloch, Wellston and St. Louis school districts for thirty years. He remained active in his community as a member of the Oaks Organization. His wife, Lenora Collins and son, Charles Raymond Collins, preceded him in death. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Calvin Collins (Katherine), daughter Annie Ruth Ray, sister Helen Frye, daughterin-law Gayle Collins, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services: Visitation will be held on March 8, 2013 at Granberry Mortuary from 4-7pm. 8806 Jennings Station Rd., St. Louis, Mo. Services will be held on March 9, 2013 at Prince of Peace Baptist Church at 3pm. 9350 Natural Bridge, St. Louis, Mo.
