Lewis W. Clegg Obituary
Clegg, Lewis W. son of the late Lewis and Irene Clegg of Verona, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans, Georgia after being hospitalized with pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Delores J. Clegg of Fairbury, Nebraska; his sister Shirley Hornyak of Oceanview, Delaware; his brother Bruce Clegg of Verona, Pennsylvania; and a grandchild, Patrick Clegg of Waynesville, Missouri. He is survived by his sons, Richard and Laura Clegg of Evans, Georgia; Michael and Mary Clegg of Waynesville, Missouri; and Russell and Kristen Clegg of Pasadena, Maryland; sister Irene Schrader of Estero, Florida; brother Robert Clegg of La Canada, California; and 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Clegg graduated from Verona High School, was a veteran of the Air Force, and an Electronics Engineering graduate of Southern Illinois UniversityEdwardsville. He spent his career as a Project Engineer in the Space and Aeronautical Industry travelling extensively with extended residences in St. Charles and Hazelwood, MO; Smyrna, GA; Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Alamogordo, NM; and Kernville, CA. He was a long-time member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Moose International. He retired from The Boeing Company in 2000 and resided in Missouri, Florida, and Georgia since that time. Services: Mr. Clegg and his late wife's cremation urns will be placed in the Columbarium Wall at Fort Leonard Wood Veteran's Cemetery located at 25350 Highway H (I-44 Exit #156), Waynesville, MO 65583, after a brief memorial service at the committal shelter at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013. Friends and family are invited to attend a reception at his son's home immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clegg Memorial Fund of the at www.alz.org
