Ellinger, Betty C. (nee Hummelsheim) fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Monday, April 15, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Leo O. Ellinger Jr.; dear mother of Carole (John) Buerman, Marianne (Thomas) Ricci, Edwin (Jean), Richard (Deb) and Kenneth (Jill) Ellinger; dear grandmother of Celia, Conor, Casey, William, Emily, Megan, Nicholas, Sophia, Ryan, Michael and Erik; dear sister of Carole (Robert Sr.) Thornton; dear sister-in-law of Cleovis (Pamela) Ellinger; dear aunt of Christine (Randy) Pour, Robert Thornton Jr. and Cheryl Johnston. Betty modeled locally for Stix, Baer & Fuller, Laclede Gas and Wabash Railroad in the early 1950s, and worked for Estee Lauder Companies during the 1970s. She was a retiree from the State of Missouri Division of Natural Resources offices in St. Louis. She was a talented seamstress, at times making some of the dresses she modeled and holiday dresses for her daughters. She was a former member of the Quilting Group at St. Mary Magdalen (city) Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank the Fountains of West County for being such a special friend. Also a special thanks to the caregivers at NHC Town & Country and Hope Hospice. Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Monday, April 22, 12 noon. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sisters of St. Joseph. Visitation Sunday 3-8 pm.
