Dear Patsy,
What a gift it was to get to know our Vance cousins when we moved to St. Louis. I have vivid memories of our many Thanksgivings and other family events together, and of the stories you and Dick would tell of your exciting lives abroad. We are thinking of you and praying for you.

Patsy - So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was one of my dad's best friends and I always loved to listen to the adventures they shared over the years. Most of these stories revolved around fishing trips in South America, and the tales would always get bigger over the years. But great stories they were. And wonderful memories they have been. The thing I remember most was “Mr. Vance's” genuine smile and happy outlook on life. He was a warm and generous person, and a great friend to my family. He will be missed. I am sorry that I will not be able to be there in St. Louis for the funeral, but want you to know that when his memorial mass takes place on Thursday, I will be with you in spirit, standing along a river out here in Colorado, thinking of him and wishing him tight lines. – All our love, The Fox Family (Karen and Rick)

Dear Patsy and family,
We will miss Dick very much. It was our pleasure to have known you both for over 50 years. Our shared experiences overseas with Monsanto were especially meaningful. Ed will always remember the fishing experiences with Dick in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Alaska, Canada and other places. Tight lines Dick and all our love.

Dick was a real prince among the "outlaws" of our extended family, so named by fellow outlaw Bob Huston. I remember so many happy times over the years of get togethers in San Antonio or Dayton, and always the laughter and bright spirit Patsy and Dick shared with us all. Wonderful memories of a great guy!

Patsy, We're both sorry to hear of Dick's death. We remember our last get together with Rosemary at L'Auberge (which, sadly, is out of business now.
We know you had many happy years together and trust that the memories will help to heal your present sense of loss. May he rest in peace.
