Kunz, Leonard Albert of Kirkwood, MO, passed peacefully on September 25, 2013. He was born May 11, 1923 in Staunton, IL. After graduating from high school there, he attended the University of Illinois where he earned a degree in civil engineering. Len was a highly decorated pilot during World War II, earning the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross among other medals. His career included many engineering and management consulting jobs. Len retired from Kellwood Company in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ. Len is survived by his wife Nora and two daughters, and sons-inlaw, Barbara and Ron Hack of Sunset Hills and Nancy and Jeff Winston of Portland, OR, and four grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica Hack and Jeremy and Jacob Winston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services: Visitation October 4, 2013, 10:30 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m., both at St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 11735 Denny Rd., St. Louis, MO. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Lucas United Church of Christ. A KUTIS AFFTON SERVICE.
