Joeckel, Harvey G. born March 10th, 1920, died peacefully at his home on February 22, 2014. Mr. Joeckel is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Tiernan); three children, Shirley Ann Dubbs (Mike), Charles Skip (Joyce) & Michelle Thomas (Phil); grandchildren, Kelley (Christopher) Boland, Patrick Dubbs, Christopher (Stacy) Joeckel; great-grandchildren Riley, Quinn, Taylor and Jack. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. Harvey was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, where he was on duty aboard the USS Warden. During the war, he transferred to submarine service with a tour of duty on the USS Stingray. Following the war, he entered the US Coast Guard. Harvey served with distinction, and for his services he earned several medals. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the Submarine Veterans of World War II and the VFW. Harvey donated his body to St Louis University. Services: A celebration of his life will be held on March 29th, 11:00 a.m. at All Souls Church in Overland, MO.
