Naida M Warner(1928 - 2018)

Naida M. Warner passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, in her home surrounded by family members.
She was born June 19, 1928, in LaGrange County, to Orie A. and Beryl (Elliott) Libey.
A lifelong resident of LaGrange and Howe Ind., she graduated from LaGrange High School in 1946 and from the Ft. Wayne Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.
Returning to LaGrange she began employment as a registered nurse at Sturgis Memorial Hospital.
Her marriage to the "love of her life" and best friend soon followed. She married Kenneth (Kenny) I. Warner of Howe on June 24, 1950, in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange with the Rev. Virgil Yone officiating. They enjoyed nearly 62 year of marriage. Mr. Warner preceded her in death on May 4, 2012.
Naida was a charter member of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi, a Howe Volunteer Fireman's Aide and was a 50+ year member of The Philomaths of Howe. Being a member of Lima Presbyterian Church and the Priscilla Circle, she served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon and an Elder. Her voluntary activities also included serving as Director for the LaGrange County Cancer Board. She spent 50+ years doing for others.
As a licensed RN, Naida spent 10 years in the office of Dr. Philip E. Yunker, M.D. Naida spent an additional 20 years serving in various positions at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange with the last eight years serving as the director of nurses.
She loved caring for her family and working. She especially liked sharing her knowledge and skills as a RN by writing procedures and teaching training classes.
Surviving is one son, Gregory I. Warner of Howe; one grandson, Brandon M. Warner of Sturgis; and one sibling, Jack A. (Clara) Libey of Lakeland, Fla.;, five nieces, Stacie, Tracie, Kacie, Darci and Rikki, all of Florida; also, one nephew, Larry (Kathy) Libey of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; a son, Bradley O. Warner on June 19, 2014; and a brother, Kent E. Libey of Goshen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, from 2-4:30 p.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with the funeral service following at 4:30 p.m. The Rev. David Hughes will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Howe. Memorials may be sent to Lima Presbyterian Church, Howe, Ind.
