Mary Elizabeth Buehring, born July 16, 1923, passed from her earthly life while surrounded by her family on May 9, 2016 in Longview, Texas after a hard fought battle with pneumonia. She was born in Houston, Texas, graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1942, and worked for Waukesha-Pearce Industries where she met her husband. They lived in New Iberia, Louisiana, later moved back to Houston and lived there until moving to Sugar Land, Texas in 1958. She resided there until 2005, then moved to Dallas, Texas and later to Longview, Texas where she spent her last days close to family members who lived in that area.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah K. Lengel, her husband Walter J. Buehring, her sister Frances Marian Nalle, son Ralph Neil Clark, and grandson Patrick Brent Gustin.
She is survived by daughter Cindy Gustin and husband Mike of Woodway, Texas; daughter Bunnye Clark and husband Paul of Henderson, Texas; and son Walter Buehring, Jr. of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by grandchildren Sean Gustin of Woodway, Texas; Sarah Walters and husband Drew of Henderson, Texas; Becca Amicarelli and husband Anthony of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mary Rachael Kluge and husband Blake of Edmond, Oklahoma; Elizabeth Buehring of Katy, Texas; and Kurt Buehring of Portland, Oregon. Great grandchildren Lillie and T.J. Walters; Hannah and Campbell Gustin; Haley, Tyler, Clara and Riley Amicarelli; and Margo Kluge. Also surviving her is her niece Nancy Nalle McKenzie, husband Bob, and son Nathan Bellah; and many more nieces and nephews.
She participated in many school activities when her children were young, being "room mother" many times and going on annual field trips with their classes. She could always be counted on to provide delicious baked items for class parties and other occasions. She also loved to sew and made beautiful clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sugar Land and worked for the Fort Bend Independent School District for many years, first as attendance clerk and later in other administrative capacities at several schools. She was loved and respected by all she worked with.
We will forever miss our Mother, Neena, and Aunt Mary. She was, and always will be, so loved. Arrangements by Forest Park Westheimer Viewing: Friday, May 13 from 5-6:30pm Services: Saturday, May 14 at 2:00pm.

Your mother was a truly memorable woman. She taught me several important things on the best way to use my knowledge and how to conduct myself in life and the workplace. Later she was invaluable in assisting me with the opening of three new schools. For this, I will always be grateful. I loved hearing of her adventures in Las Vegas as she accompanied Walter on his annual
convention. From her, I learned that was an excellent place to purchase fine jewelry for a steal !
