Agnes Navarre Broussard, 90, went to heaven on October 3, 2011, at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Gueydan, on June 7, 1921 to Albert and Octavia Menard and has resided in Welsh for the last 60 years. She was the youngest of 4 siblings.
In 1943 she married Glady Navarre who passed away in 1961. They had five children together. Agnes later married Sidney Broussard in 1966 who passed away in 2004.?Agnes was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolars Catholic Church in Welsh. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, camping, traveling, and dancing. ?She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Ramona Navarre of Jennings; son and daughter-in-law, Gerry and Kathy Navarre of Sulphur; son and daughter in-law, Ted and Collette Navarre of Welsh; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carrie Navarre of Lake Charles; and daughter and son-in-law, Juanette and Thomas Coble of Welsh; 19 grandchildren and spouses, Bill and Tessie Navarre, Alisa and Mike Mabini, David Navarre, Clay Navarre, Kim and Randy Johnson, Julie and Neal Trahan, Damon and Allison Navarre, Danielle and Daryl Hartman, Jenny and Jason Fontenot, Ryan and Bridgette Navarre, Jareth and Deborah Navarre, Barrett and Amanda Navarre, Grant Navarre, Kaitlyn Navarre, Bryce Navarre, Tommy Coble, Nicholas and Julie Coble, and Sidney Coble; 35 great-grandchildren, Holly Guidry, Caleb Navarre, Keaton Mabini, Cameron Mabini, Alex Navarre, Hunter Trahan, Alexa Trahan, Shay Smith, Colby Navarre, Talen Hunt, Tanner Guillot, Gavin Navarre, Gabe Navarre, Jordan Navarre, Julian Navarre, Karlie Navarre, Cole Navarre, Cale Navarre, Gabby Fontenot, Breanna Fontenot, Autumn Fontenot, Gage Navarre, Jaide Navarre, Blaide Navarre, Juliana Navarre, Alyssa Navarre, Kohl Navarre, West Navarre, Maliyah Navarre, Ian Coble, Olivia Coble, Peyton Coble, Elijah Phillips, Angelle Phillips, and Natalie Coble; and 4 great-great grandchildren.?She is preceded in death by husbands Glady Navarre, Sidney Broussard, grandson Mark Smith, and great-granddaughter Gabby Guidry.?Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. until service time.
There will be a wake service on Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by the Rosary. Her funeral will be Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.?Pall Bearers will be Bill Navarre, David Navarre, Ryan Navarre, Jareth Navarre, Barrett Navarre, Grant Navarre, Tommy Coble, and Clay Navarre.
