Doreline O'Quinn, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in a local hospital. She was born in Choupique on February 26, 1920.
Doreline was a lifelong resident of Sulphur and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was an active member of CARC and Special Olympics. Doreline and her late husband, Matthew, accepted the responsibility of raising four special needs children with an unwavering devotion. In 1985, the O'Quinns were named Sulphur's Family of the Year.
Survivors include her children, Harry O'Quinn and wife Jeanne, Margarette Johnson, Dale O'Quinn, Michael O'Quinn, Harold O'Quinn and Gail O'Quinn; grandchildren Dorlena Pickle and husband Terry, Karan Landry and husband Doug, Penny Goldman, Brian Allen and wife Angela, Robert Boyd and wife Kathy, Keith Johnson, Anita Ann Anglin and husband John, Paul O'Quinn, Melissa Hill and husband Jamie, Paula Lawson and husband Jeff, Rachel Romero and husband Ricky, and Angela O'Quinn; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Leona Landry; husband Matthew O'Quinn; son Larry O'Quinn; and brothers Polie Landry and J. T. Landry.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Farquhar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday and resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
