Dora Frances Hunt, 71, Inverness, passed away May 13, 2018 at home, under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Dora was born in Lexington, Ky. on Oct. 15, 1946 to the late John E. and Myrtle R. (Johnstone) Piersall and came to Citrus County in 1981 from Leesburg. Dora was a vice-president for the Lake County Bank in Leesburg prior to moving to Inverness, assuming the role of chief financial officer for Nick Nicholas Ford. She retired from that position after 29 years of service. Dora was a member of the Sumterville United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Rotary Club of Inverness, where she served as past president and treasurer and was a three-time Paul Harris Fellow. She was also past president of the Altrusa International of Citrus County.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, Alva H. "Sonny" Hunt, Inverness; three daughters - Sharon Maddox and her husband Steve, of Portland, Tenn.; Danni Scott and husband Sam, of Gallatin, Tenn.; Angie Stanton of Inverness; eight grandchildren - Dustin, Stephanie, Tyler, Alexus, Hunter, Johnathon, Jake and Jesse; six great-grandchildren-Dayton, Maddox, Bryson, Khale, Nolin and Lauryn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Piersall.
Friends may call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dora's Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 6 p.m. from the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Inverness with Rev. Ronnie Hunt officiating. Burial will follow Sunday at 11 Hillcrest Memorial Park, Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dora's memory to the Inverness Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.
